Filling a gap in the industry

Why Was TERRAVAULT® Developed?

TERRAVAULT® was originally developed as an internal tool for Cude Engineers to increase the efficiency and accuracy of data gathering for feasibility studies. As land development expanded outside San Antonio & Bexar County, finding relevant data from governmental agencies and utility companies became more difficult.

Cude Engineers created a GIS team to build and maintain a comprehensive, geographically widespread database. To make the data easily accessible, they partnered with Illustreets, a web-based mapping platform, to display the database in a fast and user-friendly environment.

What is the purpose of TERRAVAULT®?

TERRAVAULT® was created after recognizing that the internal database and user interface developed by Cude Engineers could benefit clients and colleagues. Originally used for feasibility studies, it became clear that brokers, developers, and builders could also use it to identify opportunities, educate themselves on those opportunities and turn those opportunities into assets that they could then manage on the same platform.

The purpose of TERRAVAULT® is to provide a data-rich platform for all stages of land development, from asset identification to disposition, helping make better decisions throughout the process.

Mapping the Future—Together

Before launching as a subscription service, Cude Engineers beta-tested TERRAVAULT® with trusted industry partners, using their feedback to improve the platform and develop new tools. TV remains a work in progress, with user requests for new data or functionality evaluated for feasibility. After launching in San Antonio, development began on the Austin MSA (1 year), followed by Houston (longer due to fragmented data). Dallas-Ft Worth-Waco is the next region, which is expected to contain more data than the first three regions combined.
